Fred Swainson came to Scunthorpe in 1954 for Messrs. Nickerson Ltd. As a heating engineer, and is married with one daughter. The society is benefiting from Fred’s invaluable work in the many aspects of the amateur theatre. He joined the society in 1957 and in 1959 was elected chairman. Amongst his most notable successes was his portrayal of the blind Sir Robert Rawley in ‘The Paragon’ and his production of ‘Hot Summer Night’ last November.
