Programme Notes
It gives me great pleasure to
welcome you to The Hospital Players’ 200th
production. The Hospital Players,
Scunthorpe’s oldest drama group, was established in 1943 by the firewatchers
based at the hospital. Needing to keep themselves occupied during their duties they
began reading plays and eventually started performing. We are very proud and delighted
that our group continues to flourish, giving enjoyment both to our members and
to you, our audience, whom we thank for your continued support.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream was chosen as something ‘different’ to celebrate our 200th performance. I hope you enjoy this timeless classic as much as we have enjoyed taking part. Sit back, relax and enjoy our dream.
